Gray, Alan Harris, b. July 18, 1944, d. Dec. 2, 2022 in Plattsburgh, NY. The son of T. Douglas Gray and Elizabeth Nagy Gray, he was born in Poughkeepsie NY, and graduated from Poughkeepsie High School (’62).
He is survived by sister Kathleen Gray, Saugerties NY, brother David Gray (Marguerite) Poughkeepsie NY, niece Aileen Rosenberg, (Florida), nephews Randolph McGinnis of Pa., and Jeffrey Kadlic (Danette) of Corinth, NY, several grand nieces and nephews.
Alan was bright and had a sense of humor. He loved to read, enjoyed listening to music and fixing up old cars. In recent years he loved to read. Alan attended Los Angeles City College and the University of California Berkeley 1965-67. He studied English, History and Art.
He worked various places in Poughkeepsie including IBM East Fishkill, NY, the Poughkeepsie New Yorker, and Mid-Town Theater.
In California he worked at Paramount Studios and Columbia Studios, Los Angeles, Ca., and Manpower, Inc. and Educational Testing Services, Berkeley, Ca..
He battled mental health issues most of his adult life. His family hopes he has found peace. A private burial will take place at a future date in Poughkeepsie, New York.
