Plattsburgh Mr. Albert J. Brown, 83, of the Brown Road, Plattsburgh, New York passed away Monday January 19, 2009 at the CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, New York on March 15, 1925, the son of the late Albert and Mabel (Fordham) Brown. In the early 1940's, Albert worked as a refrigeration technician for Finch and Pryne. He didn't enjoy being away from home as much as the job required and began working at E.S. Mason Dodge as a gas attendant. He continued there for 20 years. While employed at E.S. Mason, he began a top-soil business with his father in 1948. In 1961, he bought an oil truck and started delivering home heating oil locally. The business is still family run to this day. When he wasn't working, he loved classic cars and trucks and owned two of his own, that he liked to bring out to the car shows. He always took great pride in his grandchildren, whether it was showing them how to drive the trucks and loaders or watching them in the demolition derbies. He was always there to cheer them on. He also enjoyed his daily trips to all the banks in town and the local diners. Anyone that knew him knew he loved to talk. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him. Is survived by his wife of 64 years Mildred Mae (Martino) Brown of Plattsburgh; daughter Joan and husband Lee Yelle of Ellenburg Center; two sons; Wayne Brown and his wife Gloria of Plattsburgh, Allen and his wife Lois Brown of Plattsburgh; a grandson Wayne "Buck" and his wife Karen Brown; granddaughters Melissa "Muffy" Brown, Brandy Brown, and Amber Brown, all of Plattsburgh; step grandson Scott and his wife Kristi Yelle of Champlain, great grandson Waylon Brown of Plattsburgh; step great-granddaughter Danielle Clukey of Plattsburgh, step great-grandson Tyler Yelle of Champlain.
