Cadyville Alfred L. "Al" "Grampie" Bousquet, 78, of the Goddeau Road Cadyville, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Plattsburgh, New York on December 12, 1934 the son of Lester A. and Lena M. (Fifield) Bousquet. Al graduated from Mount Assumption Institute, Class of 1952, he began a career in law enforcement as a Clinton County Deputy Sheriff from 1953-1955. He then was a Plattsburgh City Police Officer from 1955-1959 when he joined the New York State Police. He started the Troop B Narcotics Units and served as Senior Investigator in the Narcotics Unit. Al retired as Senior Investigator with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation with the New York State Police. After which, he worked for the Unified Court System. He enjoyed reading the newspaper from cover to cover, doing crosswords, decorating for Christmas and spending time with his grandchildren. Al was a member of NYS Retired Troopers Association, the Policemen's Benevolent Association and St. James Church. He married Elizabeth "BJ" LaMountain on May 25, 1957 at St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain. Al is survived by his wife Elizabeth "BJ" Bousquest of Cadyville, his daughter Jean Bousquet and her husband Dean Collotta of Medfield, MA., his son Jim Bousquet and his wife Stacey of Peru, NY, his grandchildren Nick and Elizabeth Collotta and Olivia and Adelia Bousquet, his siblings; Ed Bousquet and his wife Carol of Morrisonville, Phil Bousquet of Tucson, AR, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents and a sister Mary Wilson. There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Church in Cadyville. Memorial donations may be offered to the Signal 30 Fund for NYS Troopers families' in crisis or Dana Farber Cancer in Boston in care of Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
