Alice G Craig

Plattsburgh Alice G. Craig, 85, formerly of Parson Road, Peru, New York and most recently been a resident at Meadowbrook Healthcare since 2005, died on Tuesday May 15, 2012 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born on May 27, 1921 in El Paso, Texas. Her family later moved to Inglewood, California, where she married Donald J. Craig. He was a career Army Officer and they traveled widely, finally settling in Peru in 1965. He died in 1997. Alice was a former director of the American Cancer Society in Plattsburgh in the late 1960's and later was a social worker at CVPH Medical Center for 13 years. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society of St. Augustine's Church in Peru and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Plattsburgh Elks Lodge in Plattsburgh. She is survived by her son, Donald J. Craig, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Kathleen S. Craig of Saranac; her granddaughter, Sara J. Craig of Plattsburgh, now living with her husband Dylan Strong in Dickson, Tennessee and great granddaughter Lilianna. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 6:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a time to be announced at St. Augustine's Church in Peru.
