Mrs. Alice E. Pierce-Goucher-Irwin, 79, of Bens Lane in Keeseville, passed away Thursday July 9, 2009 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Willsboro, NY on May 17, 1930, the daughter of Floyd and Adelida (Hathaway) Pierce She was manager of a Mr. Grocery Store in Florida for many years as well as a Notary Public and secretary for an insurance office. Alice enjoyed square dancing, BINGO, shopping and going yard sailing. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Florida where she lived. Alice was predeceased by her husband Roscoe Irwin, Sr. who passed away in April of 2009, a son Gary L. Goucher who passed in March of 2009 two grandchildren Jerald Goucher, Jr. and Gene Mosley. Four brothers in law Donald Bigelow, Robert Spring, Leamon Moran, Bernard Colburn and a sister in law Marlene Pierce. She is survived by her children, Jerald and Linda Goucher of Keeseville, Phillip and Shelley Goucher of Hadley, N.Y., Leslie Goucher of Napa, CA, Lisa and Steve Schultz of Vermont, Andrea Goucher of Plattsburgh. Eight sisters Fay Bigelow of Essex, NY, Vesta Spring of Willsboro, NY, Beverly Moran of Willsboro, NY, Doris Colburn of North Hudson, NY, Barbara Gough of Lewis, NY, Sheila Keech of Dryden, NY, Deborah and Pete Heald of Lewis, NY, Faylene and Harold Montville of Essex, NY. Four brothers; Atwood and Carrie Pierce of Lewis, NY, Bruce Pierce of Willsboro, NY, Floyd and Rosemarie Pierce of Florida and Steve and Linda Pierce of Essex, NY. Twenty One grandchildren, thirty one great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive her. Calling hours will be held on Sunday July 12, 2009 at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Keeseville with Pastor Edie Poland officiating.
