Alice L Prenoveau

Plattsburgh Mrs. Alice L. Prenoveau, 98, formerly of Russell Barnard Apartments and most recently of the Vilas Home, Plattsburgh, New York passed away, Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Merrill, New York on December 3, 1912 the daughter of Nelson and Nellie (Fifield) LaPoint. Alice graduated from Lyon Mountain High School Class of 1932 and from the Plattsburgh Normal School. She taught school for a time and later worked at Notre Dame School in the cafeteria. Alice was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church and the Altar Rosary Society of Our Lady of Victory. She was predeceased by her parents Nelson and Nellie LaPoint, her husband Harvey Prenoveau, two brothers, Raymond LaPoint, who was killed in action during WWII and Richard LaPoint, two sisters, Leta Ashline, Eva LaPierre and a great granddaughter Hannah Alice Boiani. Alice is survived by two sons, Ronald Prenoveau of Plattsburgh and Nalcrest, FL, Joseph Prenoveau and his wife Mona of Baltimore, MD, four daughters Mary Weaver of Plattsburgh, Patricia Ruffino and her husband Al of Nalcrest, FL, Nancy Abbruzzi and her husband Anthony of Liberty, NC, Judith Mitchell of Plattsburgh, a sister Margaret Moore of Chateaugay Lake, a sister-in-law Yvette McGee Ferguson of Winter Haven, FL, fifteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her niece Diane Provost for the love and support she provided to Alice. Calling hours will be Friday, May 20, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St, Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
