Brown Funeral Home, Inc. Plattsburgh, Cadyville and Altona (518) 561-3980 or FAX (518) 563-4843 Alice T. Renadette PLATTSBURGH - Alice Theresa (Bell) Renadette, 107, of Graves Lane in Plattsburgh, joined her beloved husband and three sons, at their glorious reunion, in heaven, June 17, 2011. She passed on, in the early morning, after a five week stay, at the Meadowbrook SubAcute Rehab Center, immediately following a short stay at the CVPH Medical Center. Proclaimed, at her 107th Birthday, as the oldest living resident in the Northern Tier, Alice was born at the Bell Homestead, on the Strackville Rd., in Redford, N.Y., on December 21, 1903. She was the daughter of Edmond and Delia (Defayette) Bell, who predeceased her., along with her brother, Orville Bell, his wife, Mildred (Renadette); and her sisters, Ora Duroucher, Evelyn Reid, and Laura Manion, and their husbands, Fred, Richard, and Charles. She was a newborn, just three days after the Wright brothers', first flight at Kitty Hawk, and lived through a multitude of flight and space explorations, including the landing on the moon, and the subsequent initial thrust to the exploration of Mars, in the near future, to name just one aspect of thousands of extraordinary achievements, precipitated in the world, during her long period of life, among us! Alice's own major achievement in life, was to maintain a loving home along with her husband, Albert E. Renadette, who predeceased her in 1983, just short of their 60th anniversary, and raised 5 children. Three sons predeceased her: Leon, along with his wife, Esther; Clifford; and Claude, as well as his wife, Wanda (Tetrault), and their infant daughter, Kim. Her grandson, Rick Renadette, passed just recently. She is survived by two other children: Floyd Renadette, with wife, Simone (Gregoire); and Alice's youngest child, Esther Arce, with husband, Fred D. Arce; as well as, Mildred Renadette, Claude's widow. Alice, also achieved the proud distinction of helping to celebrate the 50th anniversaries of three of her sons, Leon, Floyd, and Clifford, including his 60th, and the 50th, of her daughter, Esther! Alice, was the proud matriarch of the Albert Renadette Clan! Her family consisted of five children, 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren! After her husband's passing, she moved in with her daughter Esther, and husband, Fred, in 1984; she lived with them until her death. Her daughter's lifelong relationship and devotion to her mother's care, was considered a major factor to her longevity, along with her key ingredient: living in moderation...she was never a person to do things to excess! She was fairly active, until her last months of life; she read the newspaper, most every day, watched television programs, daily, including her most favorite, "Wheel of Fortune", and mourned the loss of her favorite restaurant: Ponderosa! The deserts, were her favorites, to the end! "Little Alice'', and the ''Energizer Bunnie'', who keeps coming back, were some of the popular names, for this diminutive lady, who never let her popularity and stature, as the oldest living resident in the North Country, turn her head. Her seemingly regal demeanor, and alertness, to the end, masked a personality that was proud, but simplistic in nature. Family & friends wishing, may make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, or Masses, in her honor. In adherence with Alice's wishes, there will be no viewing or calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial, will be celebrated at 10 A.M., Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at St. Peter's Church; the burial, will take place following the funeral Mass, at St. Peter's Cemetery. Arrangements, are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901; (518) 561-3980. Online condolences and memorial candles may be offered at: www.brownfueralhomeinc.com .
