Allen C. Laplant Jr.

Allen C. LaPlant Jr., 66, of Durand Road, Plattsburgh, passed away unexpected, at home on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. He was born in Lowell, MA on January 26, 1958. The son of Allen and Virginia LaPlant. Allen married his high school sweetheart, Debbie Gilman on March 12, 1977. They were married For 47 years and together 51 years. Allen graduated from Beekmantown Central School in 1976. He worked at Georgia Pacific for 9 years before going into corrections. Allen worked as a correction officer for 25 years before retiring in 2015. He did autobody thru out his life and it was something he loved to do. Allen is survived by his wife of 47 years Debbie LaPlant (Gilman). Survivors include children Brad LaPlant and his husband Freddie Trost, Craig LaPlant and his wife Heather LaPlant. His grandchildren Dawson LaPlant and his fiancée Brianna Wardell, Ashley LaPlant and boyfriend Andrew Getz, Alexis LaPlant, Sally LaPlant, Katherine LaPlant, and Allen LaPlant. Great grandchildren Xavier LaPlant, Addalynn LaPlant, and John Getz. Allen is also survived by his sister Jodie LaPlant and several nephews. Allen is predeceased by his parents Allen and Virginia LaPlant, His in-laws Donald and Patricia Gilman, and his brother James Allen LaPlant. Services will be Wednesday September 11, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
