Alton R Seymour

West Chazy Mr. Alton R. Seymour, 80, of the Seymour Road, West Chazy, passed away Friday August 29, 2014 at his home with his loving family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Beekmantown, New York on June 19, 1934 the son of Raymond and Loretta (Mayo) Seymour. Alton was a retired dairy farmer and he also retired from driving bus after 35 years for Beekmantown Central School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the ocean, listening to blue grass and country music and taking Sunday drives with his family. Alton will be remembered as a generous, hard working man who always had a smile on his face, even in is final hours. He loved having his family around him, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alton was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Loretta Seymour, his wife, Carole Seymour, a son Wendell Seymour and a sister Phyllis Ormsby. He is survived by his children; Lori Martin and her husband Kevin, Randy Seymour, Sandra Seymour and her companion Robert Charland, Wanda Seymour and her wife Jonnean, Mark Seymour all of Beekmantown, his grandchildren; Amanda, David, Tabatha, Angela, Aaron, Jacob, Kade, Karoline, Allyson and Amylyn, his great grandchildren; Trent, Zander, Lily, Karson, Blayne and Sawyer, a brother Stanley Seymour of Beekmantown, a sister Mary Paul of Plattsburgh, a cousin Bob Seymour of Beekmantown, whom Alton considered his brother, several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be Monday, September 1, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church West Chazy with his nephew Rev. Scott Seymour presiding.
