Alvin H Greenberg

Alvin H. Greenberg, 101 of Plattsburgh, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Clinton County Nursing Home. He was born September 8, 1917 in Philadelphia, PA, son of Stephen and Anna (Perper) Greenberg. He was a graduate of University of Penn, receiving his Master's in Chemistry from Temple University. He moved his family in the 70's to Lake Placid when he accepted a teaching position in Chemistry at Paul Smith's College retiring in the early 90's. He was a member of the Lake Placid Synagogue. He loved the Adirondacks, his colleagues and area friends. He is survived by Sandula Greenberg, his son David, step-children; Gary, James, and Gina, 10 step-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Ginsburg and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Yvette and siblings; Esther, Claire, Faye and his brother Shelly. There will be no public calling hours, graveside prayers will be Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 9:30am in Lake Placid Synagogue Cemetery.
