Andrew B Cahill

Andrew Brennan Cahill, 54, died unexpectedly over the weekend. He is survived by Anne T. Cahill MD, their lovely daughter, McKenna E. Cahill and step-daughter Lydia M. Gatzow of Plattsburgh, NY; his mother, Marie E. Cahill and brother, Edward Cahill of Ridgewood, NJ. He is preceded in death by his father Howard Cahill. Andrew was a devoted and loving father to McKenna, sharing his love for surfing, skiing, gymnastics and skating with her. His brilliance led him to a successful career in cardiovascular perfusion where he met Anne at UCLA. Together they shared many rewarding years with a common love for Formula One racing, world travel, and fine foods. Andrew was an accomplished home chef and rewarded his family nightly with his culinary explorations. He enjoyed entertaining at home with his family and friends. Although he was not a native of Upstate New York, he quickly grew to love the North Country and its people. He enjoyed exploring the mountains and various trails while biking. Andrew will be greatly missed and we wish him peace in his new life with our Lord. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Plattsburgh, Wednesday January 23, 2013, at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the CVPH Foundation or the American Heart Association.
