Ann Q Barnard

Morrisonville Ann Q. Barnard, 90, of River Street, passed away on Wednesday May 25, 2011 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh surrounded by her family. She was born in Westport on January 24, 1921, daughter of the late Walter J. and Marguerite (Ferrell) Quinn. Ann was a graduate of Westport Central School in 1937. She graduated from Plattsburgh State Teacher's College in 1942. Ann taught school in Alexandria Bay from 1942 to 1945. She was a member of St. Alexander's Parish in Morrisonville and she was an active volunteer at the Church. Ann was an avid reader. She was a loving Mother, Nana and Great. Ann is survived by six children, Joanne Ryan and her husband, James of Morrisonville, Peggy Thew and her husband, John of Plattsburgh, Mary Barnard of Morrisonville, Patricia Blair and her husband, Robert of Morrisonville, Roger Barnard and his wife, Connie of Cadyville, Thomas Barnard and his wife, Collette of Clifton Springs, twelve grandchildren, Beth Christon, Paula Durocher, Jim Ryan, Michele Drollette, Brian Thew, Tammy Braun, Julie Deyo, Randy Blair, Ann Blair, Jasmine Barnard, Erin Barnard and Hilary Barnard, twenty three great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, sisters in law, Phyllis Barnard of Plattsburgh, Catherine Marquis of Florida, several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Patrick Quinn. Ann was pre-deceased by her husband, Roma Barnard, her brother and sister in law, John and Marion Quinn. Calling hours will be Sunday May 29, 2011 from Noon to 4:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday May 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Burial will follow in St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville. Donations in Ann's memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country, to the Salvation Army or for Masses in her memory.
