Plattsburgh Mrs. Ann Johnson Romeo, 70, of Lynde Street, Plattsburgh, New York passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the CVPH Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer with her loving family by her side. She was born in Dansville, New York on January 17, 1940 the daughter of Clement and Ruth (Nolan) Crowley. Ann graduated from St. John's Academy Class of 1957 and the Champlain Valley School of Nursing in 1959. She enjoyed a variety nursing experiences including in-flight nursing, private duty and bedside nursing. Ann was employed at Sacred Heart Nursing Home where she had the opportunity to display her administrative and leadership abilities, serving as the Director of Nursing. Her last employment endeavor was with the Research Foundation at SUNY Plattsburgh where for 17 years she earned the respect of her colleagues and peers. Ann worked for many years for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, served on the Clinton County Board of Health and was an elected officer of the New York State Nurses Association. Her hobbies were cooking, baking, gardening and spoiling her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Peter's Church. Anyone who had knowledge of Ann loved and respected her. She always found the good in those she encountered. She was considerate, compassionate and genuine. Ann was a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother, caring friend and a role model for all care givers. She was predeceased by her parents Clement and Ruth Crowley, a son John David and her brother Howard "Butch" Crowley. Ann is survived by her husband Donald Romeo of Plattsburgh, NY, five sons; Andrew Soulia and his wife Marci of Henderson, NV, Glenn Soulia and his partner Emily of Charlottesville, VA, Jon Soulia and his wife Rebecca of Montpelier, VT, Clark Soulia of Plattsburgh, NY, Marc Romeo and his wife April of El Paso, TX, a daughter Heather Soulia of Atlanta, GA, her grandchildren; Cortland, Brittany, Jaedon, Morgan, Evan, Mackenzie and Aubrey, two brothers, Gene Crowley and his wife Joan of Morrisonville, NY, Jack Crowley of Plattsburgh, NY, a sister Marge Erdle and her husband Ed of Victor, NY, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. Entombment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery Columbarium.
