Mitzie received her first sacraments at St Rita's Catholic Church. She graduated Port Richmond High School, Staten Island, NY. She worked as a teller at Bankers Trust, NYC. Mitzie met her life's love, "Bud". They were married August 29, 1953 at St. Rita's Catholic Church. They moved to the North Country, where she loved farm life and Christmas. Bud and Mitzie resided in Altona for a while, then Staten Island, and at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. They returned to Mooers Forks, where they raised their six beautiful children. She taught them the joy of family, fun of dancing, pleasure of singing, purpose of living their faith, and the rewards of hard work. She treated Motherhood as a vocation. Not stopping at her own children, she enriched the lives of every child, teenager, and adult with whom she came in contact. She regarded all as if they were her own. Mitzie re-entered the work force, at Ayrest Laboratories, with the same passion and love that she shared with her family. Later, she was a School bus driver for NCCS. She not only drove her bus, but mentored those she transported, and taught others how to drive. In her spare time, she enjoyed square dancing, 4-H, knitting sweaters, gardening, games, pinochle, traveling with her sister-in-law Carol, attending themed based family reunions, camping, and watching the North Creek canoe races. Always teaching, sharing without reservation, living without prejudice, and giving with her whole heart to whomever she met. Mitzie retired following her husband's death in 1994. After suffering from a brain aneurysm in 1999, she provided her children the opportunity to care for her in return for the heroic love she had given them. Friends are invited to St Annes Church Mooers Forks, NY, to share their condolences with Mitzie's family, Friday, May 8, from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
