Anna E. O'Malley

November 6, 1951 — March 20, 2025

Plattsburgh

Anna O’Malley, 73, of Plattsburgh, NY, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025 at UVM Health Network-CVPH, surrounded by the love of her family. A woman of warmth, charisma, and boundless love, Anna touched the lives of many with her generous heart, artistic spirit, and unwavering dedication to those she cherished most.

Anna was born in Plattsburgh on November 6, 1951, the daughter of Gerald and Theresa (Conlon) Carter. Anna was a proud graduate of St. John’s Academy, where she majored in business and graduated in 1970. She went on to earn her legal secretary degree from Our Lady of Victory in 1971. From 1968 to 1971, she worked as a secretary for O’Connell and Wolfe, Attorneys at Law, before stepping away to start a family.

Anna found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments—music, scenic car rides, and the comfort of home. She especially loved sharing these experiences with her husband, Michael O’Malley, with whom she built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. His passing in 2013 left a void in her heart, but she carried his memory with her in everything she did.

She took immense pride in her daughters and grandchildren, treasuring every moment with them. Watching them learn and grow brought her great happiness, especially as they pursued their careers and recreational activities.

Anna also had a deep connection with animals and took great enjoyment in spending time with her pets. Caring for her own pets or enjoying the company of other animals brought her happiness.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, Anna devoted 20 years to Champlain Valley Educational Services (CVES) as a Teacher’s Aide in a classroom supporting students with multiple disabilities. She shared her artistic talents with her students, enriching their lives with creativity and kindness. She was also an active voice in shared decision-making, always advocating for the best interests of those around her. Before her career at CVES, she was a loving stay-at-home mother and provided childcare for 15 years, nurturing not only her own children but many others who were blessed to be in her care.

Anna’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and kindness. Her warmth and vibrant personality left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her family, friends, colleagues, and all the lives she touched.

She is survived by her two daughters and their families: Teri LaMora (O'Malley), Bryan LaMora, Brennen LaMora, Macey LaMora; Erin Fagel (O'Malley), Jason Fagel, and Pearson Fagel. She is also survived by her sister, Jackie Clukey, and her husband, Ray Clukey, as well as her nephew, Shawn Garrow.

She is predeceased by her husband, Michael O'Malley, her parents, Gerald Warren Carter and Theresa Carter, and her nephew, Christopher Garrow.
