Mrs. Arlene M. Chellis, 59, of Wall Street in Plattsburgh, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at her home. She was born in Altona, N.Y. on May 25, 1950, the daughter of Wallace and Hazel (Lucia) Lafave. Arlene enjoyed movies, DVD's, cooking and spending time with her children. She is survived by her husband Vernon of Plattsburgh, her children, Tammy and David Ashline of Dannemora, Sandy and Wayne Williams of Plattsburgh, Bernie and Anita St. John of Altona, Dennis Fountain of Plattsburgh, her step children, Richard and Laura of Redford, Vernon Chellis Jr. of Plattsburgh, Bonnie Chellis of Plattsburgh, her siblings, Bonny Anderegg of Peru, Carolyn Febo and her husband, Juan of Chicopee, Massachusetts, Kathy Tetreault and her husband, Denis of Point au Roche, Walter Lafave and his wife, Julia of Altona, Roxina Fischer and her husband, Dean of Eden, Utah, Deborah Denton and her husband, J. D. of Texarcana, Texas, seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Timothy Lafave. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 9, 2010 from 4 to 7 pm at Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner Farm Road in Altona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 10:00 am from Holy Angels Church in Altona. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Donations in Arlene's memory may be made to Becky's House at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner Farm Road in Altona (518) 236-5986.
