Arlene M. Defayette

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Arlene M. Defayette, 90, of Plattsburgh, NY. She was born on October 8, 1934, daughter of Thomas Ackey and Mabel (Breyette) Ackey. She married the love of her life, Gilbert G. Defayette on June 1, 1957. She is survived by her children, Thomas Defayette and wife Jolene, Todd Defayette and wife Pauline, Tina Young and husband Elric, Tricia Saucier and husband Roland, grandchildren, Jamie Saucier and husband Nic Warren, and Ryan Saucier, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, her parents, her brothers Thomas, Raymond, and Sonny and her sisters Clara, Edith, and Helen. Arlene worked for several years at Key Bank and NBT Bank until her retirement in the fall of 1996. After retirement she found a new love of working in special education as a teacher’s aide at CV-TEC for 10 years until age 75. Funeral services will take place Friday, November 29, 2024, at St. Alexander’s Parish in Morrisonville, NY at 11am. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
