Arnold G "Arnie" Pavone Sr

Arnold G. "Arnie" Pavone Sr., 92, of Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on June 25, 1926 the son of Henry and Natalina (Gezzy) Pavone. He served his country in the United States NAVY in the Pacific during WWII; following his honorable discharge, he returned to Plattsburgh. Arnie started and operated the iconic local restaurant Arnies in 1951, working alongside his family until his passing. He was avid poker player, hosting games at home that could play through the night. Arnie enjoyed golfing, holing 8 aces in his lifetime at Bluff Point where he was a member. He spent much of his time giving back to his community, serving on the Plattsburgh Zoning Board, sponsoring many local sports teams, and served as President of the Plattsburgh Bobsled Club. Arnie won many accolades for his dedication to his restaurant, winning Businessman of the Year and Restaurant Owner of the Year. He was world traveler; making trips to Europe, and across the United States. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty (Trombly) Pavone, their children; Richard Pavone and his wife Suzette, his daughter-in-law, Cindi Pavone, Glenn Pavone and his wife Terrianne, Tim Pavone and his wife Judy, Arnie Jr., and his wife Beth, , 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nepheews He was predeceased by his parents, his son, Neal, his siblings; Lil Middleton and Julius "Sam" Pavone. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00am at St. John's Church. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery at a later date.
