Arnold L Bruso

July 16, 1930 — April 8, 2020

Arnold Bruso passed peacefully at Meadowbrook Healthcare on Wednesday, April 9, 2020. Arnold was born to Elrick and Venita Bruso of Sciota, New York on July 16, 1930. Arnold graduated from Altona Central School in 1948 with a Regents diploma and was accepted to attend SUNY Cortland to pursue a degree in Physical Education. But at that time, he met the love of his life, Loretta Stone. Arnold enjoyed 70 years by her side.
Arnold retired from Corrections after 27 years of service between Clinton Correctional Facility and Altona Correctional.
Arnold enjoyed watching his favorite Yankees and even tried out for them at a spring training camp in Albany. When Arnold wasn’t working for Corrections, he was busy working on his parent’s farm or picking blueberries on the family blueberry rock. As the years went by, Arnold spent much time helping out at his children’s homes or watching his grandchildren compete in sports.
Arnold is survived by his wife Loretta Bruso, brother Alton Bruso and wife Eileen of Paramus, NJ, son Steve Bruso and wife Dawn of Plattsburgh, son Michael Bruso of Plattsburgh, daughter Patti Buccellato of Plattsburgh, his four grandchildren Courtney Miller and husband Derrick of Plattsburgh, Allison Bruso of Clifton Park, Nicholas Buccellato, Katie Buccellato of Plattsburgh, one great-granddaughter Sienna Miller of Plattsburgh, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Arnold was predeceased by his brother Donald Bruso.
Due to the current health crisis in our country, services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Meadowbrook Healthcare.
The family would like to recognize the staff on Aspenview for the care they offered our father and the compassion and empathy they extended to us. They are simply the best.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y. (518)561-3980. Online condolences may be at www.brownfuneralhomeinc.com
