Arnold “Petty” Provost, 87, of the Stratton Hill Road, West Chazy, NY passed away Friday July 19, 2019 at the CVPH Medical with family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on February 25, 1932 the son of Edgar and Lucy (Maurice) Provost. Petty was raised on Scomotion Avenue and served in the U. S Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a charter member of the VFW Post 1466 which he helped build. Petty retired as a mason and tile layer from Anthony Mion and son after more than forty five years of service.
Petty was predeceased by his parents and his siblings.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years Pauline (Weatherwax) Provost, his children; Mark Provost, George (Lori) Provost, Arnold Provost and his companion Heidy Squires, Jeffrey (Doreen) Provost, Denise (Raymond) Ward, Michele (Gary) Provost, a half-brother Mark “Spud” (Jean) Finnell, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his canine companions Peppy, Rudy and Milo.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m.
