Mr. Arthur G. Bourey, 83, formerly of Prospect Avenue, Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Will Rogers Institute in Saranac Lake. He was born in Standish, N.Y. on September 9, 1926, the son of Joseph and Margaret (LaDuke) Bourey. Arthur served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed as a master welder and heating technician at Plattsburgh Air Force Base for over 33 years. He was a life member of American Legion Post 1623 in Lyon Mountain and was a former member of the Elk's Lodge 621 in Plattsburgh. He enjoyed making clocks and model planes, bowling and traveling. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Larry and Donna Bourey of Saranac Lake, N.Y., Peter Bourey and his wife Linda of Raleigh, N.C., Donna and Tom Engel of Carrollton, Texas , , and Michael Bourey and his wife Kelley of Irving, Texas, his stepchildren; Richard Johnson and companion Sally Terry, Daniel and Debbie Johnson, two sisters- Elaine Norwalk of Ormond Beach, FL., Helen Bourey of Plattsburgh.; 9 grandchildren- Matthew, Aaron, Shane, Marlee, Joshua, Jason, Aimee, Jessica, and Dylan; two great grandchildren Owen and Cadence, and several nieces and nephews. His parents, his wife Daisy, his brothers Leo, Francis, and his sisters Margaret, Agnes passed away earlier. Calling hours will be held privately for the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Entombment will follow at the Whispering Maples Mausoleum on the Tom Miller Road. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center at CVPH.
