Arthur James Fresn

Plattsburgh Arthur "Art" James Fresn, 67, of Fournier Road Beekmantown, New York, passed way suddenly at his home on Sunday January 23, 2011. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on July 26, 1943 the son of Carl and Mary Anna (Powers) Fresn, Sr. Art graduated from Beekmantown High School in 1962 and soon after began working at Georgia Pacific in Plattsburgh, retiring in 2006 after 40 years of service as a Mill Right. He enjoyed working on house projects, his yard and garden. Art loved to spend time with his grandchildren as well. He was a member and Communicant of St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy and a former member of the Beekmantown Fire Department. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother who passed away at infancy Frances Gerald Fresn. Art is survived by his wife of 44 years Florence (Stearns) Fresn, two daughters; Lisa Fresn Lapham and her husband Benjamin of Mooers, NY and Yvonne Fresn Inman and her fiance Jack Harris of West Chazy, NY, six grandchildren; Courtney, Tyler, Kandrah, Kaila, Krysten and Karri, two brothers; Warren Fresn of VT and Carl Fresn and Hilda of Champlain, five sisters; Catherine Schippert CA, Marilyne Parsons of Champlain, Alice Parker of Plattsburgh, Joann Cleary and her husband Norm, PQ and Carol Forgette of West Chazy, two brothers-in-law Jim Stearns of RI and Dicks Stearns and his wife Carol of Lake Luzerne, NY, two sisters-in-law Sandi Stearns Thomas of KY and Elizabeth Abby Stearns of MA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and Anthony Cantrell and Rielly Griggs who were like grandsons to him also survive him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday January 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Burial will be later in the year in Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
