Arthur E. Renadette, 91, of Military Turnpike, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Plattsburgh on December 11, 1928, the son of the late Arthur G. and Julia (Defayette) Renadette.
Arthur served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and later was employed as a Corrections Officer at Clinton Correctional Facility for over 37 years. He also served as Tax Receiver for the Town of Plattsburgh for 20 years. He served on the Board of Dannemora Federal Credit Union for 30 and as President for 14 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 1619, a farmer, and an avid gardener. Arthur was a lifelong parishioner of St. Alexander’s Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister and member of the choir.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Leona (Rivers) Renadette, his children and their spouses; David Renadette and fiancée Deborah Swedick of Albany, Gerard and Paula (Hidook) Renadette of Plattsburgh, Dennis and Jane (Coupal) Renadette of Plattsburgh, Thomas Renadette of Plattsburgh, Paul Renadette and fiancée Kimberly King of Ohio, Ann Louise Renadette Drollette and companion Erik Johansen of VanCleave, MS., a sister in law; Cecilia Renadette of Morrisonville, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins including a special cousin Franklin Rivers.
He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Victor Renadette and a sister Theresa Vassar.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 3:00 to 6:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 11:30am at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be offered to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Hospice of the North Country.
