Aurele "Joe" Bray

Mr. Aurele "Joe" Bray, 87, of Leonard Ave, in Plattsburgh and Punta Gorda, FL, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the UVM CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Moose Creek, Ontario on October 2, 1928, the son of Elie and Hedwadge (Aube) Bray. Joe attended barber school in Montreal, and afterward lived in Massena, NY. He moved to Plattsburgh in 1960 where he worked on the Airbase. In 1963, he opened Joe's Barber Shop in Skyway Plaza. "Joe the Barber" as he became known as, worked until his passing. He was a member of St. Peter's Church and of the Knights of Columbus #255. Joe was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. In his spare time, he could be found playing pool or outside in his garden. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Theresa, his children; Dennis Bray and his wife Jennifer, Christine Bray, 8 grandchildren, a brother, Maurice, his sisters, Juliette and Eliana, his sister-in-law, Pierette and several nieces and nephews. At Joe's request, there will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon, on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at St. Peter's Church.
