Barbara E Douglas

Plattsburgh Barbara Ellen (Clukey) Douglas, 88, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, passed away in Plattsburgh on February 27, 2010. She was born in Plattsburgh on May 2, 1921, the daughter of Walter and Rose (Mayette) Clukey. She married her husband Charles Douglas on August 20, 1941. Together, they ran the Plattsburgh Drive-In for many years. Later, Barbara devoted herself to raising her family of eight children, and even her children's children as they came into the world. She was predeceased by her husband Charles, her daughters Marjorie (Douglas) Maloney and Diane (Douglas) Miller, her parents and her brother Delton Clukey. Barbara is survived by her children and their spouses, Nancy (Douglas) Burnell and her husband Wendell; Wayne Douglas and his wife Angela; James Douglas; Julie (Douglas) Ashline; Charlene Douglas; and David Douglas and his wife Sandra, all from Plattsburgh. She is also survived by 21, grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 4 to 7 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 11 am from Our Lady of Victory Church.. Interment will be in St. Peter's at a later date.
