Barbara L Spooner

Barbara L. Spooner, 82, of Plattsburgh, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at UVM-CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Rapids, WI on June 16, 1936 the daughter of Howard Manley and Patience Dill. She grew up in California, where she met the love of her life Harold; she later traveled to Plattsburgh where they raised their family. Barb enjoyed bowling with her husband, children and friends. She spent many summers camping with family and friends. She celebrated the holidays, elaborately decorating her home for her family. She loved her retail therapy and often would go on shopping trips. She loved playing in the ocean and traveling to Florida, Hawaii, and California; or to Vegas where she would test her luck at the casinos. She is survived by her children; Renay Desrocher and her husband Craig, Harold "Joey" Spooner, and Terri Seymour and her companion John, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother David Manley, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Harold "Pop" Spooner, and her brother Fred Manley. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 4:00pm-7:00pm and on Thursday September 27, 2018 from 10:00am-11:00am at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elmore SPCA.
