Barbara J Whittington

Barbara J. Whittington, 73, of Turner Road Morrisonville, NY passed away on Monday November 5, 2012 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her family by her side. She was born in Peru, NY on March 1, 1939 the daughter of John and Bernice (Carter) Thew. Barbara worked at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh, retiring in 2007 to take care of her husband. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Vernon Whittington, Sr. Barbara is survived by her children; Vernon Whittington, Jr. and his husband Jon Gerry of Morrisonville and Punta Gorda, FL, Ronald Whittington and his wife Norma of Plattsburgh, Lorene Whittington and her companion Timothy Reed of Morrisonville, Kimberly Burlow and her husband Michael of Hamburg, NY and Terry Whittington and his wife Kim of Morrisonville, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a sister Joan Snide, two brothers; David Thew and his wife Emily and John Thew and his wife Peggy all of Plattsburgh, several nieces, nephews, friends and her special dog Sparky. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday November 7, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held on Thursday November 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
