Bernard S "Joe" Bushey

Bernard S. "Joe" Bushey, 74, of Stony Acres Drive, West Chazy, NY, passed away on February 7, 2017 at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY on April 3, 1942 the son of Chester and Catherine (Martineau) Bushey. Joe as he liked to be called married Linda Sue Fassette on December 28, 1963, she predeceased him on March 13, 1995. He then married Linda Daniels on October 27, 1995. Joe was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He worked hard all his life. But he loved his family most. Joe loved to tell stories, tell jokes and play the lotto. He was predeceased by his first wife, two children; Chester and Holly Bushey and his siblings; Gertrude Bushey, Thomas Bushey, Eleanor Gheniou, Margaret LaFountain, Wilford Bushey, Delores Rivers, Shirley Cerello and Muriel Gleason. Joe is survived by his wife Linda of West Chazy, his son Bernie Bushey and his wife Susan of Plattsburgh, his daughter Melissa Guilbo and her husband Barry of Beekmantown, his daughter Jaime Backes and her fiancé Shawn Lamoy of West Chazy, his grandchildren; Robyn Bushey, Joseph Bushey and his wife Justine, Tasha Guilbo, Cassandra Guilbo, Holly Guilbo, Jenna Backes, Devin Backes and Amanda Sears, his great grandchildren; Hunter and Chester Guilbo, Spencer Spear, Leland Sears, Hailey and Shaun Tripi, McKenzie Giles and Ella Bushey, his brother Malcolm Bushey and his wife Becky of Beekmantown, his sisters; Marion Lytle of Syracuse, Roxie Deyo and her husband Leo of Beekmantown, Donna Nephew and her husband Jerry of Florida, Judy Williams and her husband Jim of Colorado and Catherine Bushey of Plattsburgh, his brother-in-law Paul Gheniou of Beekmantown, two sisters-in-law; Joyce Ash of Beekmantown and Rita Eagle of West Chazy, several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Saturday February 11, 2017 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
