Bernice B. Collins, 91, of Set Point, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH. She was born in Ellenburg on October 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Oliver and Rose (Rabideau) Boyea.
Bernice graduated from Plattsburgh State University and later from the College of St. Rose with a Masters Degree in Education. She lived in Castleton New York with her husband and children teaching Elementary School for the East Greenbush Central School District for over 30 years. Bernice enjoyed a challenging crossword puzzle, playing bridge and was an avid walker rain or shine. She and her husband traveled frequently in the United States and she always enjoyed spending her winters in Florida visiting relatives and friends. She was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church.
She is survived by a son and daughter; Jeffrey and Felita Collins of Georgia, a daughter and son in law; Jennifer and Kenneth Misajet of Wyoming, her grandchildren; Wynter and Joshua Collins, Kenneth Misajet, Jr., Heather and Craig Misajet, three great grandchildren; Aleena, Evelyn and Isla Misajet, and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband Craig Collins passed away in 2003. Her parents, and her siblings; Raymond Boyea, Isabelle Santamore, Marjorie Harrigan, and Evelyn Bonville also predeceased her.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:15 pm pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 pm on Friday, November 12, 2021 at St. Peter’s Church. Interment will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be offered to the Interfaith Food Shelf.
