Bernice Isabell Cressey, 81, of Twin Circle in Plattsburgh, NY passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012 at her home with her loving family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Saranac Lake, NY on February 26, 1931 the daughter of John E. and Elizabeth (Short) Bishop. Bernice worked as a waitress at Arnie's Restaurant, managed the Red Lion under the ownership of Grant Broderick, and provided day care to many families in her later years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bernice was predeceased by her parents, ex-husband Donald K. Cressey, Sr., a son Donald K. Cressey, Jr., her companion of forty one years, Marvin Morrow, Sr., her siblings; Robert, George, John, Jr. and James Bishop, Martha Rusciani, Bertha Fountain, Patricia Trott and a son-in-law Nelson Willey. She is survived by five children; David Thomas Cressey and his wife Bonnie of Yulee, FL, Keith Richard Cressey and his wife Dawn of Plattsburgh, Marvin H. Morrow, Jr. and his wife Sue of Beekmantown, Dawn Willey of Salisbury, MD, and Bonnie South and her husband David of Plattsburgh, twelve grandchildren; Shawn, Lisa, Tobi, Erik, Jessika, Sarrah, Ryan, Lissa, Jamie, Michelle, Tanner and Jessie James, her great grandchildren; Hunter, Makenzie, Emerson, Ansley, Dalton, Nina, Hailey, Alex, Alixander and Bentley, four sisters; Faith Haight of Schenectady, Frances Gushlaw and her husband Ernest of FL, Rita Ramsey and her husband Jim of Kansas, Linda Darrah and her husband Richard of Plattsburgh, a half brother Larry Velie and his wife Judy of Peru, a brother-in-law Horace Fountain of Peru, her sisters-in-law Judy Bishop, Joan Bishop and Betty Bishop all of Plattsburgh and her large extented family also survive her. At Bernice's request their will be no public calling hours. Services will be private with entombment at Whispering Maples Memorial Garden in Plattsburgh. Friends wishing may make donations to Hospice of the North Country, Fitzpatrick Cancer Center at CVPH Medical Center and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern New York.
