Bertha “Bucky” Williams, 77, formerly of Ogdensburg, passed away Saturday February 29, 2020 at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh with family by her side.
She was born in Ogdensburg on January 27, 1943, the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Holmes) Strader. She attended Lisbon school and later obtained her GED.
Bertha was employed at Newells , St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center and was a personal aide for the elderly. She was known for her unique personality, she was a fire cracker and had a feisty spirit and was a good judge of character. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, embroidery, adult coloring, word searches, watching hockey, and loved caring for all animals.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Dawn and Scott Abar of Plattsburgh, James and Ellen Williams of Anson, TX, her siblings: Harold ”Ike” and his wife Sylvia Strader of Ogdensburg, Hannah Arquitt of Pennsylvania, her grandchildren: Ashely, Daniel, Matthew and Sara, Her great grandchildren: Jenna, Owen, Ian, Carver and Bryant, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, a son Thomas, brothers James and Daniel and a sister Nancy.
A Celebration of her Life will be held in Ogdensburg at the Moose Lodge on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 1-4 pm. Everyone is encouraged to wear a little red in her honor. Memorial donations may be offered to the S.P.C. A
