Betty E Burke

Plattsburgh Betty E. Burke, 86, of Elizabeth Street, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Friday August 1, 2014 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, surrounded by her family. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on August 28, 1927 the daughter of Charles and Eva (Mousseau) Andrews. Betty worked at Kreskes in her teens. After marrying Robert Burke she stayed at home to raise her children. She was always there for her family. Betty enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, putting together puzzles. But most of all she loved spending time with her family. Betty was predeceased by her husband Robert L. Burke, Sr. and her best friend, her Black Lab Maddie. She is survived her children; Robert L. Burke, Jr. and his wife Rachel of Copiaque, NY, Mark S. Burke and his wife Theresa of Plattsburgh and Shawn M. Baxter and her husband Robert of Plattsburgh, six grandchildren; Joan Tortorice and her husband Jim of Babylon, NY, Robert Burke, III and his wife Wendy of Deer Park, NY, M. Steven Burke of Greely CO, Michael Burke of Plattsburgh, NY, Travis Baxter and his wife Jen of Morrisonville and Chelsea Baxter and her companion Kellen Denny of Plattsburgh, five great-grandchildren; Christopher and Ashleigh Tortorice, Sara Burke, Catherine Burke and Gracie Baxter. At Betty's request there will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday August 5, 2014 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh, burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
