Betty S. Sherman, 87, of Plattsburgh passed away, Monday, August 30, 2021, at the UVM-CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Essex, NY, on August 26, 1934 the daughter of Nathan and Leola (Lawrence) Stafford.
Betty was a very active and long time member of the United Methodist Church devoting many hours to various committees and projects where she developed many lifelong friends. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed reading, working on puzzles and spending time at her camp in the Adirondacks.
She is survived by her children: Gregory (Deborah) Sherman, Brenda (Randy) Davis, Jeffrey Sherman, and Bryan (Carrie) Sherman; her siblings: Charlotte Lacey, Ronald Stafford, and Judith Dickerson; nine grandchildren: Allison, Nicholas, Collin, Trevor, Katherine, Matthew, Christopher, Brandon and Jack; three great-grandsons: Theodore, Thomas and Parker; and numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
She is predeceased by her parents, her step-father, Joseph Cumm, and her husband, Lawrence Sherman, DVM.
Her funeral will be held at the United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh at 10am on Monday September 13, 2021. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Wadhams, NY.
Donations in her name may be made to Plattsburgh United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.
