Bonita Bertha (Sharlow) Kirby, 81, of Collins Way, Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 30, 2021 at her home. She was born in Altona, NY on January 30, 1940, the daughter of the late Paul and Genevieve (Sorrell) Sharlow.
She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, wife, and friend who loved all of us unconditionally. She enjoyed sitting in the sun on her porch. Feeding and watching the birds and squirrels, planting flowers in her front yard in the spring and going on shopping adventures and rides in the country. She had a heart of gold and would never let anyone go without. She cared deeply and loved each and every one of us, calling every night to check on us and we’d giggle and laugh together telling stories. She enjoyed her scary movies, her game shows (Jeopardy) and loved her loose change scratch offs and spending time with her longtime friend, Ron and his dog, Chopper. She loved to spoil her grandchildren/great grandchildren on the holidays with gifts. She is loved by us all and will be truly missed. She is forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Kirby, Sheila Barber and companion David Dapo, and her son Francis J. Kirby and his wife, Amie Kirby, her grandchildren, Travis Clukey (Chrissy), Anthony Kirby (Sarai), Rodney Clukey (Jessica), Ashley Kirby (Fernando), Kyle Clukey (Anna), Heather Kirby, Misty Kirby (DJana), Andrew Kirby, Jason Zienkiewicz, and Kenneth Zienkiewicz, great grandchildren, Anthony Kirby, Taylor Kirby, Ashton Stockdale-Clukey, Autumn Peck, and Lil Shane Peck, Lil DJ Latcelop 3rd, Theodore Mann-Kirby, Alexandria Zienkiewicz and Mika Zienkiewicz, her sister Norma Cox and her long time friend Ron Haase and his dog, Chopper, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Francis Edward Kirby, her daughter Laurie (Kirby) Mesick and her granddaughters Kelly Mesick and Heidi Kirby, three brothers, Paul, Larry and Gary Sharlow and three sisters and their spouses, Betty (Jack) Ensell, Debra (George) Bartlett and Cindy (Danny) Rondeau.
