Brenda M Rivers

Brenda M. Rivers, 56, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020 at her home with her loving family by her side, under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Plattsburgh on August 4, 1963, the daughter of Earl Donah and Shirley (Buskey) Hanion.
She walked through life by her own compass with a pure heart. Brenda enjoyed being outside in her garden. She was an excellent cook and baker, making food for her family and friends. She enjoyed most spending time with her granddaughter. When she wasn’t providing for her family she also would be caring for her cats. She’ll be missed by her family as she was known as The GOAT.
She was predeceased by her parents and her best friend Donna Brodi.
She is survived by her children; Chasity Brunet and her daughter Phoebe, Peter Rivers and his wife Samantha, and Alysha Rivers; her sisters, Marie Mattioli and her children Paedyn and Zoe, Ann Thurber and her husband Brian and their children Caleb, Brianna, Abigail. Her feline companion, Lucky “Homer” who will be adopted by her daughter Alysha.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 1:00-2:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow in the Brown Funeral Home chapel.
Memorial donations may be offered to the St. John’s Feral Cat Fund.
