Brian D Mccort

October 21, 1956 — February 15, 2024

Brian D. McCort, 67 of Plattsburgh, passed away at CVPH on Wednesday February 14, 2024 after a lengthy illness. Brian was taken care of at home, by his loving wife Barbara, throughout these years of deteriorating health. He can now join his canine buddy Stan Lee, and they can resume their walks together. Brian was born in Martin’s Ferry, Ohio, the youngest of 8 children to Helen (Desaw) McCort and Francis McCort Sr. Being the youngest he had to suffer the nagging of 4 older sisters. Brian loved Rock-n-Roll music and ran the sound and light shows for many local bands. He also enjoyed fishing and attending auctions, and could be found at Steve Brodi’s Auction House on Sundays. He was predeceased by his parents, his mother-in-law Elizabeth Scribner and sister-in-law Virginia Ogg, his brothers John and Francis, brothers-in-law Kevin Conners and Billy Facteau. His is survived by his wife Barbara, his sisters Michele Conners and Melissa Facteau of Plattsburgh, Deanna Peete (David) of N. Carolina, and Nanette Hite (Ben) of Peru. In addition he is survived by his sisters children; Kenna Conners, Marlee Spielman, Shane Facteau, Jared Facteau, Danyell Collins-Facteau, Leonna Weiss, Eric Jasuta, Kayla Emery and Kara McCort. Many thanks to the Freedman Renal Center and Dr. Pabst for their loving care. Donations in his name can be made to the Elmore SPCA in Peru, N.Y. Calling hours will be held on Monday February 19, 2024 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A prayer service will follow at 6:00 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
