Altona Mr. Carlton J. Rabideau Sr., 67, of the Alder Bend Road, Altona passed away into the loving Arms of the Lord on Saturday November 29, 2008 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Altona, N.Y. on August 1, 1941 the son of John and Beatrice (Therrian) Rabideau. Carlton was a Dairy Farmer his whole life. He enjoyed NASCAR and especially loved cheering for his favorite driver Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed Pinochle and hunting. Carlton was a member of the Crazy Eight Hunting Club in Onchiota, N.Y. and a parishioner at Holy Angels Church in Altona. Carlton was predeceased by his parents John and Beatrice Rabideau and two brothers-in-law Darrell Matton and Robert (Clarence) Peryer. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Pauline Rabideau, they celebrated their anniversary on November 17, 2008, four children and their spouses; Donna Lee and Jeff Charland of Altona, N.Y., Carleen and Edward Meseck of Mooers Forks, John and Wanda Rabideau of Altona, N.Y. and Carlton and Jessica Rabideau II of Altona, N.Y. and a special son-in-law Peter Sorrell Sr., Three Sister Shirley Matton of Plattsburgh, Jean Truax and her husband William of Litchfield, Connecticut, Beverly Peryer of Platsburgh, 13 grandchildren; Jeffrey II, Eric and James Charland, Peter II, Amanda, Karlie and Justin Sorrell, Isaac and Aaron Meseck, John II, Paige and Nisa Rabideau and Garrett Gero. Also many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends Dave Konackik and Doug Boyea and special pets Snowball and Peanut survive him. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 on Tuesday December 2, 2008 at the Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner Farm Road in Altona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 3, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Angels Church in Altona. Entombment will follow in Whispering Maples Memorial Garden in Ellenburg Depot, N.Y. A Reception will be held at Holy Angels Parish Hall immediately following the Entombment.
