Catherine B Kipp

Plattsburgh Mrs. Catherine B. Kipp, 85, of Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, November 02, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Plattsburgh on March 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (King) DeFayette. Catherine was a member and Past President of the Rescue Hose 5 Ladies Auxillary and a member of St. Peter's Church. She enjoyed cooking, working in her garden, going to the Casino, family gatherings, going to lunch with her daughters and playing Quick Draw. She especially enjoyed watching the birds at her feeder. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ambrose Kipp, whom she married August 30, 1945, her sons and their spouses; Rodney and Carol Kipp, Gerald and Vicki Kipp, Bruce and Kathie Kipp, Ken Sr. and Sally Kipp, Kevin Kipp and companion Sherry Scofield, Anthony Kipp, her daughters and their spouses; Ms. Cathy Kipp, Paula and Tom Yanis, Regina and Jim Braun, a daughter in law; Colleen Kipp, a brother and sister in law; Clifford and Julie DeFayette, her sisters and brothers in law; Anita Topnick, Roseanna and Robert Zuck, Eunice and Gordon LeClair, her sisters in law; Jane, Arlene and Evelyn DeFayette, 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. A son, John Kipp, two granddaughters; Heidi Kipp and Kelly Kipp-Fredenburg, her parents, and her brothers; Remie, Gilbert, George and Roger DeFayette, a sister and brother in law; Regina and Clifford Rollier, and a sister in law Dora DeFayette passed away earlier. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 1:00 to 4:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 10:00am at St.Peter's Church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery Memorial donations may be offered to the St. Peter's Field of Dreams.
