Catherine Laforest

Catherine LaForest, 97, of Plattsburgh and formerly of Altona, NY, passed away on Wednesday April 11, 2018 at the Clinton County Nursing Home. She was born in West Chazy, NY on March 26, 1921, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Gebo) Duprey. Catherine enjoyed gardening, cooking and being helpful to people. Catherine was predeceased by her husband Wilfred LaForest, her parents, six brothers; Richard, Walter, Edward, Abraham, Fred and Leo Duprey; seven sisters, Mina McHie, Della Bell, Carrie Goss, Delia Trombley, Ruby Gonyo, Rita Racette and Mary Downs. She is survived by two sons; Andrew Burleigh and his wife Jane of Peru and Alex Burleigh and his wife LaRue of Mooersville, NC, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive her. Calling hours will be held on Saturday April 14, 2018 from 11:00 to 1:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel, entombment will be at Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens in Ellenburg Depot.
