Cecile Eva Filion, 88, entered eternal life Dec. 5, 2024 surrounded by her family. Cecile is predeceased by her husband, Richard “Dick” Filion of 41 years, her parents Adrien and Rolande Fecteau and her brother, Adrien Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Ken) Peter of Penfield, NY and Natalie (Mike) Allen of Morrisonville, NY., four grandchildren, Carly Allen, Stephen Peter, Elyse (Luke) Kochmanski and Emily (James) Smyth, two sisters, Janine (Hank) Smith and Pauline Miller, and 4 great-grandchildren, Owen and Clara Kochmanski and Harper and Theo Smyth. Cecile was born in Henryville, PQ Canada and moved to Champlain in 1942, where she attended St. Mary’s Academy and graduated as Valedictorian in 1954. Cecile and Richard were married in 1956 and together they owned and operated Filion’s Mobil and Convenience Store and then Filion’s Liquor and Wines. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish, where she served on the parish council and as a trustee. Cecile was a member of the Catholic Daughters in Champlain until 2003 and then in Morrisonville at St. Alexander’s Parish. She was commissioned as a lay minister in 2003 and volunteered at CVPH and with Literacy Volunteers. Cecile loved gardening and traveling to the Holy Land, Italy and Ireland. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Hospice of the North Country for their care and support that is beyond words. Cecile’s Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville on Wednesday, Dec. 11th at 11am.
