Cecile M Joncas-Calderaro

Plattsburgh Cecile M. Joncas-Calderaro, 71, of Cumberland Head, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Grande-Riviere, Quebec on June 10, 1938, the daughter of Theodore and Lydia (Leblanc) Joncas. Cecile was employed as a registered nurse in Quebec, California and Nevada for over 30 years specializing in labor and delivery and pediatrics. She was also a master of Reiki and operated her own private practice in Montreal after retiring in 2000 from nursing. She also taught Pediatric Nursing for several years and was trained in Neuro-Linguistics. She was an avid artist and oil painter and was a meditation instructor. Cecile is survived by her children, Carolyn Calderaro and longtime companion Roberta Boyea of Plattsburgh , who cared for Cecile in their home until the end of her journey, Michael Calderaro and his former spouse Betty of Las Vegas, NV., Cal Calderaro of Las Vegas, NV., her siblings, Carmen Dunn of Montreal, Normand Joncas of Ontario, Andre Joncas of Quebec, Jean-Marc , Gilles , and Gerard Joncas all of Quebec, her dearest friend Louise Cousineau of Brownsburg, Quebec, her 6 grandchildren, Sarah Reed of Ottawa, ON., Joni Reed of British Columbia, Melissa McArthur and companion Joshua Powell of Albany, Jessica Calderaro of Las Vegas, NV., Christina Calderaro and companion Dashiell Glazer and Sean Calderaro, all of Las Vegas, NV., and a future great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 9 siblings. In accordance with Cecile's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Private services will be held in Quebec at the convenience of the family. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Hospice of the North Country for the excellent care and compassion given to Cecile.
