Claire A Gilbert

Claire A. Gilbert, 78, formerly of Durand Street, passed away Friday, May 23, 2008 at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh, surrounded by her family. She was born in Plattsburgh on July 13, 1929, daughter of the late John W. and Winifred (Cobb) Gilbert. Claire was a 1947 graduate of Plattsburgh High School and a graduate of Albany Business College. She had been employed by the law office of James A. Fitzpatrick and Ronald B. Stafford for many years as a Paralegal and Office Manager. Claire was passionate about singing and was a charter member of Sweet Adelines. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. Claire is survived by two daughters, Sarah Salatino and her husband, Bryan of Essex, Vermont, Susan Verenazi of Ghent, New York, four grandchildren, Glenn, Esther and Katie Verenazi and Galen Salatino, a sister, Merle R. Gilbert of Plattsburgh, four nephews, Jake, Peter, Joe and Steve Beauvais, one niece, Judy Beauvais and five great nieces and great nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh. A Celebration of Her Life will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Brown Funeral Home Chapel, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh.
