Clarence Richard "D.A." Ayotte

Clarence Richard "DA" Ayotte, 94, of Blair road, Cumberland Head, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at UVHN:CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Dannemora, NY on November 6, 1929 , the son of John and Maude Ayotte. DA served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He married Joyce Brandell on September 10, 1955 at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. He worked for the family business Bay View Dairy on Cumberland Head. For over 30 years Joyce and DA, bred and showed Tibetian Terriers. They traveled the United States extensively competing in shows and won with four breeds at the Westminster Dog Show. He was a founding member of St. Mary's of the Lake Church and member of St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh, the Tibetian Terrier Club of America, a charter member of the Dannemora Riding Club, a lifetime member of the Plattsburgh Elks Lodge and member of the Knights of Columbus. DA enjoyed bowling and golfing. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Joyce, a daughter Patricia Toyo, a son-in-law Bill Holzer, his siblings; John and Earl Ayotte and Mary Jane Watts. DA is survived by his children; John “Jack” Ayotte and his wife Debra of Londonderry, VT, Carol Holzer of Plattsburgh and Michelle Ayotte of Shepardsville, KY, his grandchildren; Cory, Jayme and Samantha Ayotte, Alaina and Mack (Kelsey) Holzer, Theresa (Adam) Thomasson, Catherine (Johnathon) Tyndall, Mary, Hope and Charity Shepardson, seven great grandchildren, his sister Nancy Donely of FL and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard “Dick" and Anne Brandell of Plattsburgh, several nieces and nephews also survive him. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday June 10, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
