Clarence "Chuck" Trudeau

Clarence "Chuck" J. Trudeau, 74, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at his home with his wife and children by his side. He was born on September 1st, 1950, the son of Clarence R. Trudeau and Marie (Dubrey) Trudeau. He married the love of his life, Monique (Hebert) Trudeau on August 19, 1972.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and trapping. He celebrated his love outdoors to the fullest. He traveled through out the United States and Canada and around the world. Some of his greatest trips included climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africia, hunting for Elk in Colorado, Moose hunting in Newfoundland, Canada, hunting and fishing in the Adirondacks, hunting in South Africa, and a grizzly bear hunt in Kodiak, Alaska. He traveled with Monique throughout the United States visiting 49 states including driving to Alaska in 1982 with 500 miles of dirt road on the Alaskan Highway. They spent time in New Zealand, France, Japan, and South Africia.

He worked as a Correctional Officer in New York State for 26 years. He worked at Dannemora, Altona, Lyon Mountain, and prisons in central New York. After his retirement, he began his dream job of taking over Trudeau’s Tree Farm from his father Clarence. He was passionate about growing the farm. He continued to be involved after Nicole and Dewey took over in 2019. He was always there to make sure everything was done “right”.

He is survived by wife of 52 years, Monique Trudeau; his children, Nicole Baker and her husband Mark, Donald Joshua Trudeau and his wife Ayako, and Dewey Trudeau and his wife Lindsay; grandchildren, Cole, Sala, Shelby, Brodi, Louie, Evelyn and Eric; great granddaughter, Emery; mother, Marie Trudeau; brother, Alan Trudeau; sisters, Debi Giametta and her partner Dave Kellogg, Colleen Trudeau and her husband Darren Merrill, and Diane Kopaskie and her husband Stan; several nieces, nephews and numerous friends including his deep friendship he shared with his cousin Henry Venne.

He is predeceased by his father, Clarence R. Trudeau, his grandparents, Viola and Dewey Trudeau, Isreal and Bertha Dubrey. His Uncles Bill and Steve Dubrey and his closest friend and cousin Donald Trudeau, Jr. and many more family members and friends

Visitation will take place on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at the American Legion Post 1619 in West Plattsburgh.
