Morrisonville Mr. Clarence R. Forkey, 80, of River St. in Morrisonville, passed away, Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Mooers Forks on May 1, 1930, the son of Arthur and Ruby (Garrand) Forkey. The Forkey family later moved to Plattsburgh. Clarence graduated from M.A.I. in 1949 and was employed at the A & P Tea Company for 43 years until his retirement in 1992. He also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. He was married on September 14, 1957 to his wife Jeanne (Fayette) Forkey. He enjoyed the New England Patriots, his favorite football team and he enjoyed the Senior bus trips, doing puzzles in the winter and he was a counter in the Active Adult Fitness Club. He is survived by his wife Jeanne, his children; Kevin and Denise (O'Connor) Forkey of Pownal, Vt., Steven and Joanne (Ahern) Forkey of Morrisonville, Todd Forkey of Mashpee, Cape Cod, Ma.. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Katie (Forkey) Baker and Michael Baker of Morrisonville, Matthew and Keri (Zielinski) Forkey of Plattsburgh, his great grandchildren; Madison and Lauren Baker, his step grandchildren; Morgan and Shaun Provost of Pownal, Vt., an adopted grandson James Forkey of Pownal, Vt., and 3 sisters in law: Belva Forkey, Mildred (Forkey) Sellin and Sharon Forkey, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, 5 brothers; Arthur, Gilbert, Albert, Adrian and Roger Forkey, and 2 sisters; Elizabeth Fountain and Ruth Rock. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be offered to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital or the Myotubular Myopathy-Centronuclear Myopathy Family Conference in honor of Clarence's great nephew, William. Checks can be made out to the non-profit "MTMRG" with "Will Ward" written in the memo section and mailed to the Myotubular Myopathy Resource Group, 38 Buckingham Circle, Pine Brook, N.J. 07058.
