Clarence J Jefferies

Plattsburgh Clarence J. Jefferies, 83, of Brinkerhoff St., Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at UVM-CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Chadbourn, NC on October 29, 1931 the son of the late William and Lela (McClellan) Jefferies. Clarence served his country in the United States Air Force for over 23 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He later worked in civil service doing various jobs on the military base. He attended Clinton Community College, graduating with an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice and another in Business Management. He was a member of the VFW Post #20 and attended the First Assembly of God. Clarence enjoyed his time fishing whenever he could. He was devoted to the love of his life of 41 years, Hilde Jefferies and held cherished relationships with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clarence is predeceased by his siblings; James Alford, Leroy Ford and Earl Jefferies. Clarence is survived by his wife, Hilde, his 7 children; David Wild, Rita Alford and her husband Dennis, Andre Wild, Jeff Jefferies, Gerlinde Chambers, Clarence Jefferies Jr. and his wife Holly, and Corina Jefferies, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, his siblings; Ruth J. Placide, Peggy Jefferies, Geraldine McDonald, Thomas Jefferies, and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, January 2, 2014 at 11:00 at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Burial will be private in Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clarence's memory may be made to the North Eastern New York Alzheimer's Association.
