Mr. Clifton O. Bell, 72, of the Bell Road, Plattsburgh, New York passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was born in Plattsburgh, New York on February 6, 1938 the son of Orville and Mildred (Renadette) Bell. Clifton was a graduate of St. John's High School. He and his brother Herman Bell co-operated the Bell Family Farm until 1987. Clifton then went to work at Clinton Correctional Facility for Corcraft retiring in 2003. Since 1992 he was self employed with Bell's Excavation and Bell's Coal Supply. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, camping, traveling, eating, dancing, socializing, going to parties, helping people, gambling, most of all working and spending time with family and friends. If you need help fixing something, call dad. He loved to spend time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Clifton was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #255 and St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Clifton was a most wonderful, sincere, friendly and caring person. He was predeceased by his parents Orville and Mildred Bell, a son Curtis Bell, his sisters, Gertrude Provost and Loretta Rabideau. Clifton is survived by his wife Deanna M. (Brown) Bell of Plattsburgh, whom he married August 24, 1957, a daughter Ann Vaughn and her husband Lenny of Beekmantown, three sons; Greg Bell and his wife Jeanene of Beekmantown, Michael Bell and his wife Laurie of West Chazy, Jonathan Bell and his wife Amy of Plattsburgh, a daughter-in-law Karen Bell of Rochester, one sister Winifred King of Plattsburgh, one brother Herman Bell and his wife Valida of Plattsburgh, 10 grandchildren; Melody, Eric, Heather, Ian, Christopher, Jonathan, Cassandra Bell, Bryan, Matthew and Craig, Vaughn 3 great grandchildren; Zoe, Zane and Skyler Vaughn, two aunts, several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 a.m. from St. Alexander's Church. Interment will be at St. Alexander's Cemetery. Friends wishing may make donations in his memory to the charity of one's choice. Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #255 are asked to meet Thursday at 6:45 at the Brown Funeral Home for services.
