Daniel Bryce Bissonette of Syracuse passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the age of 61. Dan was born in Plattsburgh on January 3, 1964, the beloved son of Bryce and Irene (Read) Bissonette. Dan grew up in Morrisonville and graduated Valedictorian of Saranac Central High School, class of 1982. Dan pursued higher education at St. Lawrence University before enlisting in the U. S. Army, and then embarking on a distinguished career in public service as a NYS Corrections Officer, retiring in January of 2021. Dan had a deep love for the military, American history, and an enduring passion for the music of the Rolling Stones and for his favorite hockey team, the New York Islanders. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Dan was predeceased by his grandparents, a step-father Leonard Lee Read, and a step brother-in-law Alexander Stroinski. Dan is survived by his father Bryce Bissonette and his wife Christine, his mother Irene Read, his devoted daughter Megan Bissonette of Seattle, WA, two cherished grandchildren Jamaya and Jamil Perkins also of Seattle, his brother Todd and his wife Joanne of Plattsburgh, and two special nephews Corey Bissonette of Morrisonville and Shawn Bissonette of Fort Lauderdale, FL, two step-sisters Sandra Read and Annette Stoinski both of Plattsburgh, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. At the convenience of the family, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the spring at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville.
