Daniel J. “Dan” Bushey, 68, of Plattsburgh, NY passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at the McClure-Miller Hospice Center, with family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, on July 22, 1950, the son of Leonard and Bernice (Lashway) Bushey.
Dan served his country in the US Army. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Plattsburgh. Dan was an avid sports fan, cheering for the NY Yankees and the Syracuse Basketball Teams. When he wasn’t rooting for his teams, he often could be found enjoying Horse Racing, playing Bingo or cards with friends. Dan was an animal lover, especially caring for his cats. His greatest joy was spending time with his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother, Bernice Bushey, his siblings; Kenneth Bushey and his wife Joan, Judy Lyons, Mary Weightman and her husband John, Sue Davison, Rodney Bushey and his wife Donna, Karen Trombley and her husband Douglas, his dear friends, Kathy and Judy, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, his companion Paul Bollinger, his brothers Gary and Larry Bushey, his brothers-in-law, Robert Davison and Arthur Lyons Sr.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Altona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 25 at 10:30am at Holy Angels Church. Burial will be at a later date in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the McClure-Miller Hospice Center, Colchester VT.
