Daniel E Willett

Mr. Daniel E. "Danny" Willett, 87, of Route 22, Beekmantown, entered into eternal life, Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility with his loving family by his side. He was born in Ellenburg Center, NY on January 18, 1930 the son of Charles and Viola (LaBombard) Willette, Sr. Danny attended Ellenburg School and later joined the U. S. Navy from January 1951 to November 1954 serving in Cuba during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Diamond International where he was a pipe fitter. Danny enjoyed bowling, traveling, playing cribbage at the mall with his buddies and all sports. He was an avid New York Yankee fan until Derek Jeter retired. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers; Frank, Gerald, Albert, Charles, Ransom his sisters; Beatrice Willette and Angeline Lafave. Danny is survived by his wife of 63 years, the love of his life, Rena C. (Gero) Willett of Beekmantown whom he married on May 5, 1954 at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks, NY. He is also survived by four daughters; Sharon Watkins of Plattsburgh, NY and her husband Phillip, Bonnie Sponable of Plattsburgh, NY and her husband David, Judy Fitzpatrick of Riesel, Texas and her husband Dean, Diane Masella of Champlain, NY and her partner Julie Hastings, a sister Mabel Penz of North Tonawanda, NY, a brother Nelson Willette of Great Falls, Montana and his wife Joy, his grandchildren; Nathan and Corey Birkemeyer, Hillary Sponable, Alex Willett, Daniel Fitzpatrick, Krista Kaloides, two great grandchildren; Alayna and Sutton, several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks, NY. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery Mooers Forks, NY. In lieu of flowers, masses may be said in his memory.
